Frequently Asked Questions about Yarn Twisting Services

Yarn twisting (or fiber twisting) is the manufacturing process of binding multiple filaments or single yarns together by rotating them around a central axis. This process significantly increases the tensile strength, durability, and abrasion resistance of the material. By applying specific twists per inch (TPI) and combining multiple plies, the raw fiber is engineered to withstand the extreme physical demands of industrial applications.

Our in-house twisting equipment processes fine yarns and heavy industrial cords ranging from 200 denier to 9,000 denier. We can calibrate our machines for 0.2 TPI up to 18.7 TPI, offering both 'S' and 'Z' twist directions. If your application requires specifications outside this standard range, contact our engineering team for evaluation.

We offer both single twisted yarns and robust cabling/cording. Our standard capabilities allow us to twist up to 4-ply constructions. Custom ply requirements can be evaluated upon request.

We specialize in twisting technically demanding fibers for industrial OEMs. Our core fiber capabilities include Para-Aramid, UHMWPE, Zylon®, Technora®, and Vectran®.
