Webbing and Strap Finishing
With multiple state-of-the-art finishing lines, Sturges has the capability to enhance the properties of the webbing to better meet the performance requirements desired.
Stiffener treatments provide more body, fire resistance finishing is applied to non-aramid fibers to enhance performance, repellency finishing improves properties to resist liquid contaminants, and pigment dyeing adds color to non-producer dyed fibers. Additional treatments are available to address special situations. Please contact Sturges to discuss your application in detail.
Note that these are just a small sampling of products that we offer. Don’t see a product that will meet your requirements? Please contact us. We have been making custom solutions for over 100 years and would be more than happy to help you develop a product that meets your needs.

Finishing processes at Sturges Manufacturing Company enhance webbing by improving strength, durability, and usability. Treatments such as heat-setting, calendaring, coatings, and surface finishes can reduce stretch, increase abrasion resistance, enhance UV and moisture protection, and improve the overall appearance of the webbing. By customizing finishing for each application, we ensure that webbing performs reliably in industrial, aerospace, safety, and outdoor environments.
We can apply finishing processes to a wide range of webbing materials, including nylon, polyester, aramids like Kevlar® and Nomex®, UHMWPE, and Vectran®. Our finishing techniques are tailored to each material’s properties to enhance strength, durability, abrasion resistance, and environmental performance while maintaining the webbing’s integrity and functionality.
Finishing processes are designed to enhance the strength, durability, and functionality of webbing. Techniques such as heat-setting, calendaring, coatings, and surface treatments can reduce stretch, improve abrasion resistance, increase UV and moisture protection, and provide a smoother or more consistent surface. By customizing these finishes for each material and application, we ensure that webbing performs reliably in industrial, aerospace, safety, and outdoor environments.
